The Maison Sublime de Rouen Association
The Maison Sublime de Rouen Association (AMSR) was founded in March 2007 to safeguard, protect, restore, reopen to the public and promote this monument, and thus help improve understanding of the history of Jewish people in Rouen and Normandy.

The association has :
- Created a website, with a wide range of information, to provide further insight into this precious piece of Rouen heritage
- Involved people likely to support the association’s actions
- Reopened the monument to the public in 2009
- Organised an international conference in 2011 on “Normandy Jews in Medieval society and culture”, bringing together eminent specialists, including Professor Norman Golb (University of Chicago), Professor Gad Freudenthal (CNRS), Professor Gérard Nahon (EPHE) and the historian Jacques Le Maho (CNRS)
- Produced a 15-minute short film in 2011 “Que cette maison soit sublime (May this house be sublime)”, created by Ms. Cécile Patingre, with the assistance of students studying a vocational course on audiovisual technology at Lycée Corneille de Rouen. The film was presented at the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival.
- Successfully convinced the authorities at the Palais de Justice (First Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal and Public Prosecutor) to carry out restoration work, then convinced the State to fund them and local authorities to assist
- Brought together the skills required to develop the project by creating a steering committee, an editorial board and a scientific committee.
- Ms. Marianne Quénel attended all site meetings
- Planned, organised interviews leading to the transfer agreement by the Rouen Palais de Justice, managing tours and promoting the monument to Métropole Rouen Normandie’s Régie des Équipements Culturels
- And finally, overseen by Henry Decaëns and Jacques-Sylvain Klein, trained tour guides (in March and December 2021) from the Régie des Équipements Culturels
